IEA raises global oil demand forecast for 2017 to 97.7 mln bpd
MOSCOW, Sep 13 (PRIME) -- The International Energy Agency (IEA) has raised its global oil demand forecast for 2017 by 100,000 barrels to 97.7 million barrels per day, it said in a September oil market report on Wednesday.
The agency also revised the 2018 oil demand forecast by 100,000 barrels to 99.1 million barrels per day.
IEA said demand from participants of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development has exceeded previously projected figures though it can slow down in July–September the U.S. due to the Harvey and Irma hurricanes.
In August, global oil supply decreased by 720,000 barrels to 97.7 million barrels per day due to unplanned repair stops, riots in Libya and natural disasters.
